Notes

Healthy School Canteen Policies, Programs, and Best Practices in Southeast Asia book aims to inspire school administrators, teachers, students, and policy decision-makers in Southeast Asia on the importance of establishing and maintaining a healthy school canteen. This book is also meant to promote the efforts of featured schools and governments in advocating health and nutrition among school community members, particularly students, through a healthy school canteen. Twenty six (26) healthy school canteens and around 70 best practices are featured from six (6) Southeast Asian countries, namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines. This book also describes geographic and sociodemographic profiles, educational systems, malnutrition and eating habits among school-aged children and adolescents, policies and programs on school health and healthy school canteens, examples of healthy school canteen best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations of respective countries.
