Seameo strategic plan (2011-2020)

Note: A Strategic Plan is a directional document which guides an organization while not limiting its future opportunities. The SEAMEO Strategic Plan (2011-2020) serves this exact purpose. The Strategic Plan puts forth SEAMEO’s overarching aspiration: to enhance regional understanding, cooperation and unity of purpose among Member Countries to enhance the quality of life through the establishment of networks and partnerships, the provision of fora among policy makers and experts, and the promotion of sustainable human resource development. This aspiration reflects both SEAMEO’s uniqueness, in terms of the role it serves in the region, and its capacity to build on its strategic collaborations to fully play out this role. SEAMEO has set for itself a vision of Golden SEAMEO by 2020. In pursuance of this vision, the SEAMEO Strategic Plan presents a series of objectives (strategic goals) and actions (initiatives) to enhance SEAMEO’s excellence in four thematic domains: Regional Leadership and International Visibility, Programme Excellence and Dynamism, Social Responsibility and SEAMEO Values and Internal Capacity Building. Just as this document is significant to SEAMEO, the process of coming up with one is just as important. The SEAMEO Strategic Plan is a product of careful, methodological assessment of drivers, changes and trends to the organization, consideration of uncertainties and risks and future options. In this SEAMEO Strategic Plan Booklet, the planning process and tools were briefly described alongside the Strategic Plan itself and its envisioned implementation process. Most of all, this booklet provides SEAMEO partners and key stakeholders a holistic view of the Organization’s forward-looking, roadmap for SEAMEO’s future.
