A Strategic Plan is a directional document which guides an organizationwhile not limiting its future opportunities.The SEAMEO Strategic Plan (2011-2020) serves this exact purpose. TheStrategic Plan puts forth SEAMEO?\u20ac\u2122s overarching aspiration: to enhanceregional understanding, cooperation and unity of purpose among MemberCountries to enhance the quality of life through the establishment ofnetworks and partnerships, the provision of fora among policy makers andexperts, and the promotion of sustainable human resource development.This aspiration reflects both SEAMEO?\u20ac\u2122s uniqueness, in terms of the role itserves in the region, and its capacity to build on its strategic collaborationsto fully play out this role.SEAMEO has set for itself a vision of Golden SEAMEO by 2020. In pursuanceof this vision, the SEAMEO Strategic Plan presents a series of objectives(strategic goals) and actions (initiatives) to enhance SEAMEO?\u20ac\u2122s excellencein four thematic domains: Regional Leadership and International Visibility,Programme Excellence and Dynamism, Social Responsibility and SEAMEOValues and Internal Capacity Building.Just as this document is significant to SEAMEO, the process of coming upwith one is just as important. The SEAMEO Strategic Plan is a product ofcareful, methodological assessment of drivers, changes and trends to theorganization, consideration of uncertainties and risks and future options. In this SEAMEO Strategic Plan Booklet, the planning process and toolswere briefly described alongside the Strategic Plan itself and its envisionedimplementation process.
